We Work Together to Empower Children, Young Women, and Families
Hasken Arewa Foundation is dedicated to uplifting out-of-school children, young rural women, and widows in Northern Nigeria. Through education, skills training, healthcare, trauma healing, and humanitarian support, we help communities rebuild with dignity, hope, and opportunity.
Volunteers Engaged:
Young Women Empowered
Widows Supported
Children Sponsored
We Are a Non-Profit Organization
Hasken Arewa Foundation was created to close the gap for those affected by conflict, displacement, and economic hardship. We work in communities where opportunities are scarce, providing pathways to education, income, emotional stability, and brighter futures. Our approach is holistic because the challenges are interconnected. A child cannot focus in class without support; a woman cannot chase opportunities without skills; a widow cannot rebuild without healing and community. We meet needs at every level — academic, emotional, physical, and economic — because transformation is not one-dimensional.

Meet Our Founder

Mrs Gotname Bitrus-Ibrahim
Gotname Bitrus-Ibrahim is a proud Nigerian from the K’lela tribe, residing in Kebbi State. She is a multifaceted individual, recognized as a poet, novelist, and relationship coach, guiding others through the complexities of human connections. Beyond these roles, she is a passionate advocate for children’s and women’s rights, tirelessly working to ensure their voices are heard and needs met. Gotname is also an evangelist and a blogger, using her platform to share her faith and engage a wider audience on issues close to her heart.
In her own words: “My calling is to teach love, to be love’s express image to the unloved, the difficult to love, the vulnerable, and those who are often seen as challenging to embrace.” She believes she has been sent to inspire specific people at this moment in history, encouraging them to fulfill God’s purpose through love. Gotname views her work as essential to the completion of the Great Commission, dedicating her life to spreading hope and love.
Spiritual Journey and Ministry
Gotname’s spiritual journey began at age ten when she gave her life to Christ. At twelve, she was baptized in water, and at fifteen, she was baptized in the Holy Spirit, further solidifying her faith. Since then, she has felt a strong calling to ministry, focusing on reaching the vulnerable and those in need of comfort and support.
At 21, she founded LoveFaithHope Ministry (LFH) to empower youths in her community, teaching them the heart of God toward the lost and poor, and how to use their talents to glorify Him. More recently, together with her husband, Mr. Ibrahim Nathaniel, she became a missionary in Sokoto, within Africa’s 10/40 Window. There, they launched Hasken Rayuwa Afrika Ministry, sharing the message of hope, love, and salvation while supporting local communities through compassionate service.
In 2022, they established Hasken Arewa Foundation, a foundation addressing not only spiritual but also physical, mental, and emotional needs. As Director, Gotname leads initiatives that return out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria to education, advocate for women and children, empower widows and vulnerable women, provide economic support to communities, and offer discipleship programs in public schools.
Achievements and Impact
Gotname is an accomplished writer, authoring inspiring and problem-solving works including Angel, If Mine, Victor a Victim, Emakame, Ikasi’s Adventures with the Friendly Crocodiles (a children’s book), First Love: In His Presence (a Christian guiding journal), and I Dare to Dream the African Dream. She also published her first academic work, Exploring the Trauma of Social Crises in Adamu Kyuka Usman’s “The Death of Eternity”, featured in Tradition and Society: A Festschrift on Kyuka Lilymjok.
Her dedication to mentoring children and young adults, encouraging them to discover their talents and purpose through poetry and creative expression, has earned her recognition. She received the World Poetry Commitment Award from the Authors Institute Nigeria on World Poetry Day.
Personal Life
Gotname is blessed with a loving husband, Mr. Ibrahim Nathaniel, and three children: Charisa Jasmine, Joshua Sigmund, and Maimuna Zoe. She continues to live her mission of love, empowerment, and service, leaving a lasting impact on the communities she serves.

We Are A Strong Team
Our success is powered by committed volunteers, educators, healthcare workers, partners, and community supporters who show up with passion, compassion, and dedication. They mentor children, teach skills, advocate for change, run outreach programs, and stand beside families in their most difficult seasons. We operate with humility and hands-on engagement, working directly in classrooms, villages, camps, and communities. Each member of the Hasken Arewa team understands that we are not simply delivering programs — we are restoring hope and strengthening futures one life at a time.
