Happy Children’s day from All of us at Hasken Rayuwa Foundation

Nigeria is blessed with the most vibrant, creative, and energetic children in the world, as seen with the brilliant young minds in our rural communities and beyond.

Children’s Day is a special occasion celebrated annually to honor children, with the date varying by country. Pastor Charles Leonard initiated a dedicated service for children in 1857 in Massachusetts, USA. The World Conference on Child Welfare formalized the idea in Geneva in 1925, designating June 1 as International Children’s Day. The United Nations declared November 20 as Universal Children’s Day in 1954. Different nations observe unique dates, such as India on November 14 and Nigeria on May 27.

At Hasken Rayuwa Foundation, our priority is to bring hope and support where it is needed most, combating the out-of-school crisis so every child can read, write, and dream. We work to shield children from abuse, child labor, and the insecurity that hinders their childhood. We aim to ensure every vulnerable young child in Northern Nigeria has the strength to grow, play, and learn without burdens. We are dedicated to mentoring young minds to become honest, compassionate leaders who will build a better Nigeria.

To our partners and supporters, your generosity is the fuel that drives our foundation. Because of you, a child who once had no books now sits in a classroom. A child who felt forgotten now knows they matter. To our incredible teachers, thank you for the sacrifices you make every day.

As we celebrate Children’s Day today, let us remember the importance of childhood and the need to safeguard children’s rights, for they are the future of our nation. Let us unite in investing in their health, securing their education, and protecting their rights. The future is unfolding right now in the lives of our children.

From all of us at Hasken Rayuwa Foundation, we wish every Nigerian child a joyful, safe, and inspiring Children’s Day!
