Our children at Hasken Arewa Foundation have faced difficult experiences like conflict, abuse, lack, and sudden loss, which have left them feeling emotionally broken and sometimes depressed. Yet, during special moments like this, they find safety and peace. Each summer, we dedicate time to talk to these children about God; His birth, death, burial, resurrection, and the great commission, because we believe children are never too young to know God and share this wonderful news with others.
Our dedicated Daddy, Pastor Ibrahim Nathaniel, who is the Executive Director of Hasken Rayuwa Afrika Ministry, carefully and intentionally explains the importance of the Great Commission and how vital it is for us as children of God to participate, at our annual Summer camp.
Having gone through such heartbreaking experiences, simply telling these children about God’s love isn’t enough to ease their pain. That’s why we use simple, relatable stories from the Bible and personal experiences to show them how deeply God loves them, sees them, and trusts them enough to give them a special mission, which is sharing His love with other children in their communities.
Learning about the Great Commission gives them a new perspective on life, moving from feelings of uncertainty, pain, and loneliness to understanding how precious they are to God. It shows them that they have something valuable to offer, to help another child,and that God has a unique purpose for their lives.Their eyes are opened to see not only how cherished they are by God but also to realize that the Creator of the entire world has a special assignment just for them, the children.
This teaching helps reshape their thinking, from simply recovering from pain to becoming givers and sources of hope for other vulnerable children like themselves.As we prepare for our next summer camp in 2026, we warmly invite you to be part of this blessing.
Children from different states and communities under the foundation, come together in Sokoto state, where our headquarters reside, to take part in this impactful, edifying,and empowering annual program.
